LOVE this digi set - I think it is easily in my top 3 favourites. (I know I am biased as I designed it lol) BUT, there is something about it that makes me smile.
I would love to come across a old turquoise typewriter in a thrift shop. Maybe I will one day :)
Anyway - I made three projects for you this week, the first is my fav.
I printed out some of the typewriters onto a sheet of magnet printer paper (search a well known auction site for this paper, it's awesome, and I got 2 sheets for 99p!)
And then I trimmed them out, I love how they look, and I love that I can hold a little note to the fridge with them :)
I also added some text and printed out the blue one and printed out one of the pre designed "love quotes" ones and mounted simply to card. I like sim
ple cards, especially when the graphics speak for themselves.
There are five love quote ones, which would make very cute valentines cards.

And don't panic freebie fans... there is a freebie this week!
"Hello, you fool, I love you"
Valentines Telephone freebie.
If you like it (and I hope you will) You can download the set free
And before you go, are you wondering what to get your loved one for Valentines day that will be both unique, cool and calorie free?
How about a personalised print?
I loved the typewriter SO much that I designed a print.
It is available in a 7x5 printed and mounted form
or digital form sent personalised via email (£4-£8)
And comes with the addition of your chosen name or phrase.
If you want more info - it is in my Folksy store

Menu Frame

One part of being a mum that I struggled with, was offering nutritious meals, at least five times a week for my mini family. I am one of those people who will stand at the fridge, not be inspired, open a cupboard, not be inspired and go back to the fridge to see if a magical meal solution has appeared. So - we started to meal plan, BUT we used to write them on scraps of paper and then find ourselves constantly searching for the notepad we wrote it on, or finding and old one and getting confused as to why there was quorn fillets on the menu but none in the freezer.
Anyway - long story cut short - I was blog hopping and came across this
And I had to do one for myself!
have tons of frames - and grabbed a 10x10 one, popped in some gorgeous Crate and October afternoon paper and used some PERFECT stickers from the crate restoration collection pack with days of the week on (score!)
Then all I do every Monday is write the meals for the week as we do the online shop.
awesome.
Plus - and rather geekily, I love writing with dry board markers :)
xxxx
I love an organised home. (or the idea of one lol!)

Little Musings CD.

Did you see it!?
*smile*
It was so much fun!
I was sitting on my sofa, and Marion was so nice about the stamps that my eyes welled up!
Anyway - I won't go on about it too much, as vanity is not a pretty side to anyone's soul.. but I was so proud.. and if you did miss it, there is a video clip on the actual listing for the stamps on the qvc site HERE The boys set sold out! *eeep*
Thank you for all the emails and comments you sent me xxxxxxx
I know this is the 3rd "little musings" post on my blog in one go - and I promise I will be doing crafty things this week to show you.. as I managed to get hold of a Jan Studio Calico kit! *Thank you Claire* so I will be scrapping my little heart out with that later! (YAY for birch tree print paper.. boom boom so pretty!)
But - I wanted to let you know of a new Little Musings product you may like to know about:

Friday Musing "I do, I do too!"

Hello all.
*I am publishing this a little bit early (23:oo Thursday eve) as I will be busy tomorrow morning, and didn't want to miss out on posting the Friday musing :) so if you see this on Thursday, you're not going mad I promise.
xx

I decided to get all serious with you this week, and offer something very "normal" indeed after last weeks vegetable set (which, btw, I was so chuffed that so many of you bought!! Thank you for joining me in my quirks *mwuah!*)
So this week I introduce you to..."I do" - "I do too!"
Wedding themed digital stamp kit.
In this kit you get:
The cake outline digi stamps, with a colour version in both jpg and png forms.
A suit (same as above) a dress (same as above) A coupled suit and dress colour jpg
a sheet of printable paper in rose design, and various Mr & Mrs printables, that come both as jpg and PNG for use when layering the digi stamps. (17 files!!!)

I really do hope you like it.
If you do, please log on
:D
need some inspiration?
Well...
Lisa Hines made this beautiful cake box, which is such a perfect use for the cake digi stamp, I love how it looks perched on those beautifully matching pink and green papers and ribbons. I would be very happy to get a bit of cake in one for sure!
And using three of the elements, I layered up a card in Gimp (Free software I highly recommend) I printed on some matte 6x4 photo paper and adhered to the front of a blank card.
I love how rich the colours look, I added a rose gem stone to the dress and grooms button hole.
I hope you like "I do" I do too!"

Ps: Don't forget - Friday, 4PM uk time, Little Musings stamps are going on QVC!

I am nervous, excited but nervous!
***********
If you are around at 4pm, be sure to tune in! I will be sitting on my little red sofa chewing my fingers to the bone!

15 Jan 2011

I actually sat and scrapped.

I haven't scrapped since the 17th of Dec - and that was JYC, which means I haven't scrapped a 12x12 layout since November... Urk.
Anyway - I had entered a scrapping funk.
No one likes a funk. Especially one that makes you look at your scrapping stash like you have never seen it before. I was talking to my friend Laura on the phone and she was like "I liked your old stuff, where you clustered etc" And I realised that I hadn't done that in a while.
So I went back to my roots - and whilst I like the first one here, It wasn't 100% want I was going for - it was still too busy in too many areas...

So I stopped.. sorted some stash, paper shuffled and thought "What would 2009 SJ do?"
I came up with this, and I must admit, I really like it!
It is old skool with a couple of 2010 touches (ink and mr Huey)
The photo is a Hisptamatic picture, so is meant to be this blurry, and it's about how Finlay is constantly on the move, to the point he sometimes makes me dizzy, and he is too speedy to even stay still for one tiny second to get a photo where he isn't zooming out the side of!
Good job I love him so much, as my camera love mixed with a camera hating boy can sometimes cause my face to be sad.
The glazed Bazill has been sitting in my stash box for AGES, I thought it was time it had its day - plus the Mr Huey wiped off the glazed areas for a cool effect.

Friday Musing digital stamp "Romatic Vegetables"

Morning all.
Just occasionally, I like to go a bit off beat with my stamp designs..
It has been a busy couple of weeks designing stamps, so I wanted to do something fun for a change.
Have you ever watched Pretty woman, or Forrest Gump? Did you love those films?
Then you will recognise the meaning of this weeks Musings :)
Romantic vegetables - based on two movie quotes.
Forrest Gump "Me and Jenny goes together like peas'n'carrots"
and pretty woman:
"Let's watch old movies all night... we'll just veg out in front of the TV."
" Veg out? "
"Yeah. Be still like vegetables. Lay like broccoli.."

And thus was the inspiration for the stamps this week...
But hey - if laying like brocolli just isn't your bag - I also put some cut peas in pods too - cos everyone loves two peas in a pod :) (or three... I edited one for me, Ben and Finlay and decided to pop it into the kit as well!)
If you are like me and you love the quirkiness..you can get the musing for £.1.50
I did a layered card with the brocolli - printed out the postcard and the png brocolli the same size and just carefully trimmed it and pop dotted it to the card.
(*tip - when trimming, if you go over the black line of the original drawing, just touch up the side with a black pen, you won't notice the difference!*)
And then simply mounted the whole front to a card.
I also printed out a postcard  - cos you never know when one will come in handy :)
Caroline Sears made this card using the two peas that come in the kit..
How cute!?
A perfect example of why Hybrids can look so cool...
I love it.
I also love the little pearls in the corner that look like peas :)

Document 2011 ?

Last year, a lot of my friends did Document 2010 - the free year long class that Shimelle organised.
I think I did January - and then stopped.
Fail.
I have looked at several of their albums in real life - Especially Laura and Leanne's
Here is some of my favourites from Laura's album pages (hope she doesn't mind me borrowing them for the purpose of visual evidence of how awesome Document 2010 was for her!)

Whenever I see these pages on her blog or with my actual eyes I have been left with that pang of guilt, that I too could have had an album as awesome as this if I had applied myself and actually scrapped it.
This is going to change! I am going to make up for lost time in 2011.
I have spent many a blog catch up recently reading how people are doing their 365 projects -
be it project life (wow.. cute huh!?) If only it weren't a million pounds or something.
Or Shutter Cal (Awesome) which lets you upload a picture every day and get printed on special cards which fit inside a cute box at the end of the year, and comes as an App. (again expensive but cute)
Or the 365 app on the phone - a calendar photo app like Shuttercal, but allows you to send yourself the completed month as an image - which could be printed (I'm still thinking about this)
I am doing the 365 app, and via doing this, I will do Document 2011.
That is my only scrapbooking goal for the year (aside all the normal ones!)
I have no idea what this year will hold - and it seems quite exciting to have a whole years worth of memories in one album. (Actual scrapbooking!!!! - not just "here is me on holiday" but actual scrapbooking stripped back to it's basic foundations)
I already know that I am going away with the scrappy girls again, joining my sister at Spa break and seeing GLEE on stage - so that's a fair amount of awesome already booked in :)
What are you doing to document life in 2011?

Friday Freebie - Lil Kitty

Morning all!
I am late with the freebie this week, in fact - I have only just drawn one!
I drew you an italic kitty today.
I like drawing in Italic - and it seemed you liked the Italic Christmas freebies, and the Italic angels were loved by many *heart*  So here today is an Italic tabby cat for you.
Due to my lateness, he doesn't have any beautiful examples from the DT for you :(
However, I am sure, if you like him you can make him a pretty home in your digi stamp collection.
You can download him for free
