Proper photos... new home 2

Well… It is officially a week now since we packed up the rental van and moved out of our flat, and so far, life in a house has been fantastic - my legs are getting used to the stairs (lol) and my head is LOVING the back door being open during cooking or on warmer days - I am feeling a lot more at peace.
I think being cooped up with a 3 year old in a flat with no outside space took it’s toll on my mind, as I have been so much happier since moving here. It seems to be a really quiet street too, there are a few funny characters but I guess that is normal :)

I haven’t crafted since being here though! I am itching to do something paper-y or stitch-y….. I have tried baking in my new oven… but it is going to take some getting used too (bye bye fan assisted!) I made a bit of a failed toffee banana cake today for Ben and Fin (Bananas are yuck in my opinion!) but at least I now know that the oven is a little hotter than I first thought, and timings in recipes can be shortened a bit…

This is the gravelled area of the outside space…

And this is Finlay the second we discovered that the neighbourhood cats have been using this gravel as a giant kitty litter tray *RANCID* poor Finlay was scooping up gravel into his bucket and he unearthed a fresh poop!
I started kicking around and found a whole heap more (pun intended) so we have bought some “Get Off!” cat repellent and we also squeezed oranges over the gravel last night as we know that cats hate citrus smells… fingers crossed they find a different location to relieve themselves!

The only downside? No room for our dishwasher *sob*

But at least we have a pretty garden to look out onto when we do the washing up. (I enclose a photo here of Ben doing some… which will only cement my families belief that I don’t actually do any housework lol!)

One thing I have made since being here is this console table...
which holds currently, a jug of pretty blooms and a frame..
Another one of my favourite aspects of this lil' house is this gorgeous fireplace....
which is a functional fire place *joy joy joy*
I can't wait to cosy up in the winter :)
Anyway - this is the last "New home" post I promise...
until next time *Mwuahahahahahah!!!*

It all looks lovely (except the cat-litter-tray-in-the-gravel!) Maybe it would be good to get a real sand-pit for Finlay, so he can dig to his heart's content, but you can keep it safely covered up (and clean)? After all, you now have a great garden to put the sand-pit into...
When you say you "made" the console table, do you mean you cut up the timber, drilled the holes, stuck and screwed it together etc.... or did it come in a box? I mean, if you Really Made this, I am filled with huge amounts of admiration for your skills... Either way, I love the little console table and it just "goes" in that spot there...
I just bought (and assembled by myself!) and cream-coloured drawer unit, that has 4 big square baskets, very like yours, only it is full of baskets - 2 up, 2 down.. It's in the hallway, replacing an ugly & huge wooden box that's been there "temporarily" for the last 3 years... Suddenly, our tiny hallway seems quite big!

Love the house pics - I don't mind if you post more - I like seeing other people's houses and how they decorate and furnish them. It's nice...
I also love the fireplace.. sighs...

Hooray for outdoor space! Boo for cats >:( We found Pepper Dust was the most effective cat deterrant, but I can't seem to get hold of that anywhere now....

Hooray for gorgeous fireplaces! Boo for no space for dishwashers :( Hooray for well-trained men!! ;)

Oh, and lovely to see you in Kirsty's class :)

Your new home looks lovely and cosy. Best way to get rid of the cats is apparently to have one yourself - NOT that I have ever tried.

It looks like you have a dishwasher there to me! And it's a mobile multi-functional one that can also make you breakfast! :)

I haven't visited your blog in a while and I am so pleased to see you have moved! We had our little boy in a 1 bedroom flat for 2 years and it was sooooo lovely when we moved into a house with garden - enjoy!! (our "little" one is 6' 2" now LOL)

Oooh, inspiring! I admire how your house looks -bright, tidy and tastefully decorated...and now I've fallen in love with your console table.

Can you remember where you got it from? Please tell me. Perhaps I could find one just like it.
