The one with an awesome giveaway........

YAY for give away's right?
AND I HAVE AN AWESOME ONE FOR YOU.
I have a place for one lucky blog reader on
I signed up last year, and fell head over heels in love with my album - even from day one.
I had everything cut and ready to go by like the 15th of November - and when it came round to Dec first I was ready, glue in hand to paste Finlay's 2nd Christmas onto paper forever more,
And even now when I look back over the album I am incredibly proud.
So - if you want a chance to feel that way, to create an album that might just well become a family heirloom.. then leave me a comment with your favourite moment of the Holidays.. be it the second your child finds their stocking packed full of gifts from Santa, or when your cookies come out perfect, or when your husband clues up and buys you that star pendant from Tiffany's. ;-)... any moment will do!
I will announce the winner tomorrow night! QUICK!

Friday Buy It musing "Italic Angels"

Hello all! Happy Friday.
Some of you may think "I am having dejavu here!" No.. you're not - I hit publish instead of Save on Thursday - fail - never mind! I am back on the proper day!
I hope you are all warm and cosy today. The UK is experiencing some snow in parts - and although our small town remains snow-free, my fingers certainly feel like they have been in a freezer for a year!
I have a Buy it now Musing for you this week.
A set of 6 digi stamps, Italic angels.
For as long as I can remember, I have drawn these angels, I have painted them on canvas, made greetings cards from them- doodled them on the edges of newspapers, envelopes, note pads - even a desk at collage - *shush*
So, when I decided to put them together and create a digi set, a little part of me felt very protective, like I was releasing them into the digital world to fly all by themselves - and then a part of me thought "don't be so stupidly sentiment SJ!" - but despite all that inward dialogue - here are the stamps:
Lisa made these CUTE projects...
This "Peace" sign looks really gorgeous with angels on it :)
And the card is very angelic with those gentle blues..
Look at the glittered wings too - pretty!!!
Photobucket
Photobucket
Caroline made this gorgeous card with the harp playing angel *loves*
Photobucket
I made a card with one of my favourite images from the set:
I think, it is a mother and daughter - at least, I like to think so...
Photobucket
If you want to purchase "Italic angels" (I hope you do!) for £1.50
and then love them forever please :)
You will be taken to the Little Musings Digital stamp store.
Don't forget - BUY ONE GET ONE FREE on digi stamps ends at the end of November!
**Remember - put the one you want in your cart and then add a note to the checking out page telling me which one you want for free.

The one where I spell leaping wrong...

I just had a conversation on facebook with my sister that went like this:
ME: "Btw - there are some cute Christmas printables on my blog"
SISTER "I saw. By the way, you spelt leaping wrong - you put leeping. It's leaping"
ME: "OMG... ARE YOU KIDDING!?"

And thus prompts this corrected print - please forgive me if you have already downloaded the previous... *whoops!*

The one with a quick Sunday Christmas freebie....

This time of year, I always start thinking about what I can do decoration wise in my front room for Christmas, I like doing something different each each, and this year, with the huge popularity for framed word prints booming, I am going to go down that route!
I knocked some up today - and thought i'd share them with my blog readers - in order to get them, simply click on the one you like, and it will open in a seperate window - some of you might have to click on the image once more to get it full size, but once it is full size, just right click and save to your computer.
These print out perfectly in 7x5" format - but would print happily larger - (ooo A4?! CUTE!)
And then frame them for your living space this Holiday season.

There is one more print - but it had a spelling error lol - so I have re-blogged it :)

The one about quirky kits first LO....

Hi blogland.
I am blogging today with my first LO made for Quirky kits using the
"Hey Christmas Cupcake Kit"
I used a mix of the papers from the kit - and some kraft cardstock.
I also couldn't wait to use one of the gorgeous cotton rolled flowers - so fab on a page - and perfect for adding a quick home made touch!
Photobucket
here is a close up of the LO.
Photobucket
I am loving this kit - ESPECIALLY the Mr Huey Studio Callico spray! DIVINE to use - the colour is rich and sits very nicely on the cardstock..
also - it seems to be less "wet" than other sprays - and I noticed that the cardstock didn't curl up as it can do with other sprays - bonus! Pretty and practical.
I hope you like my first LO - I will be back with more!

The one about the owl and sewing cat

I have had such an awesome day - literally one of the best days I can remember for ages!
It was all down to "The Owl and the Sewing cat" In Bexhill (and now in Eastbourne!!!) And to two of my lovely buddies Laura and Leanne. We had booked a quilting workshop a while ago, and it finally came round this weekend. "The owl and the sewing cat" shop is stunning - compact, with floor to ceiling beauty in fabrics and possibility!
We were making a quilted cushion...
Firstly though, after the hello's - we had to choose our fabrics.. from here....

So - you can imagine how hard that was!!!
What felt like an hour passed, and mostly all of that I was stood standing mouth agape trying to decide what fabrics to use..
I started off with some CUTE Michael Miller "Space" fabric - retro goodness.. and then I was stuck. Leanne pretty much chose the next two for me, as I was literally mind blown lol!
polka dot pretties were in order..
Photobucket

We patch worked the top - and then used a micro stitch gun *instead of fiddly safety pins*
I KID YOU NOT - BEST INVENTION EVER!!
I am getting one for sure - as this invention was made for ease and speed! Forget fiddly safety pins - a micro stitch gun is akin to those clothing tags you get on every item of clothes you buy and have to cut off - but micro.. and built for quilting. SO COOL. It made my day - I need one in my life! *(Rach and Katherine, if you are reading this - look into it!)
So - after we had micro tacked it - we quilted the top - it looked like this:
Photobucket
Laura and Leanne made BEAUTIFUL cushion tops too -
Photobucket
I love how different they are - same pattern, but totally totally different effects.... each of our cushions totally represented us!
Photobucket
And... here are the finished cushions!! FABULOUS huh!? Yup! I feel so excited that we accomplished them so beautifully - and I am embarrassed to have realised how wrongly I was attempting sewing before today! *even down to the rotation of my bobbin!*
But - here is my finished cushion, front and back:
Photobucket
Photobucket
I am emotionally proud of this cushion...
and... plan to make more for the lounge, and perhaps everyone I know...
because it is cute and crafted and pretty beyond words.

Happy Saturday nights everyone

Shimelle's digital products are always so versatile, for both digital scrappers and hybrid scrappers.
This is my page for the celebrations blog hop theme...

The one about fabric love......

Afternoon blog land!
A quick post today, dedicated to fabric.. and my love hate relationship with it... :-)
I adore fabric - I do. I truly do.
I love quilts, and aprons, and bags, clutter buckets, bunting... etc etc.
I am not a good seamstress.
Hence my love/hate relationship.
I aim to rectify that very soon - with the help of a sewing class this weekend.. so, what I am about to show you may seem crazy.
BUT back in the summer, I bought the Early Bird fabric (obviously because it's divine)
And decided to cut it into strips, to make a "strip quilt"
I sewed all those bits - and then decided to add two rows *one either side* of squares.. so far, so good... then... for some reason, I decieded to add four GIANT strips - 2 either side - to make the quilt kingsize.
Here was where my downfall started. I began to sew, and then realised fairly early on, that my sewing machine was too small to fit all the gathered fabric in as I got closer to the middle.. let alone the other edge!! Turning it round didn't help as the fabric just wouldn't fit. So - after many tears, finger pricking, and TWO broken sewing machine needles.. I decided to sacrafice one side.. cut off 2ft of fabrc and finish the quilt before loosing my mind. Which I did.. finished with bias binding *heart*
I then sat under it for a good few hours. Recovering.
Untill Finlay saw it that is... and now he firmly believes it is HIS...
and who could say no to that?
So - after getting over my tantrum, and declarations of "never quilting again"
I am already planning my next one - for Finlay, for his bedroom. I am using a combination of Wheels and All star Riley Blake fabrics. These fabrics are a pleasure to sew with - and I adore the colours and clear pattern on them...
I aim to keep it manageable this time lol!
As long as it covers a 3 year old I will be fine!

Creative stuffs..Dotcomgiftshop and twopeasinabucket...

As you know - I love Dotcomgiftshop - they are in my opinion, easily the cutest gift shop online.
I was very excited to receive this parcel from them the other day, containing some Christmas goodies
These kraft boxes are DELIGHTFUL..
Photobucket
and when in stock can be found HERE
Can you imagine using festive ribbons and holly leaves to decorate for your special presents!?
GORGEOUS
I adore kraft - they come with a whole heap of decoupage pictures too, but I chose to decorate the teeny one in some paper..the boxes are very sturdy, so make covering them a breeze.
Photobucket
They also sent me these cute Christmas ribbons and Christmas layered stamp stickers.
Both these have gone straight into my Christmas Journal stash - and will make PERFECT additions to my Christmas album - and, perhaps, if he is lucky, on Finlay's letter to Santa. After all, special letters need special stamps :-)
Photobucket
Oh - and whilst you are on their website (and we all know you will be... unless you don't like cute!??)
Check these bird tags out...
I think, I know, I NEED these... and.. might just buy them for my JYC album..
Photobucket
seriously I actually squeaked when I saw them!!
CUTE!
************************************
So.. what else is new this weekend?
Well, one cool awesome thing, is that I am a guest for twopeasinabucket this weekend, joining in with their
Photobucket
The first this month - My challenge was to create four cards, with a connecting theme, using digital kits printed out - and a couple of extra embellishments.
I chose some traditional Christmas kits from their digital store - but also one non Christmas, purely for the legs!
It is my favourite of the four cards - and the one that I could visualise in my head before I started, I created her pompom skirt by cutting and layering a digi flower, and finally added detail of a heart and the festive lyric.
I hope you like! I think she might have to go in a black ornate paperchase frame for December :)

If you have time, please pop by the gallery, and leave my little projects some comment love *mwuah*
