and then when the score comes out low.. she'll add her middle name just in case (lol)
she loves to ready Mallory Towers and watch re-runs of Sweet Valley High on tv.
She loves marshmallows, pop tarts and peas (but not at the same time)

Hello Baby

Finlay is a VERY lucky boy - because the kind people at HELLO BABY DIRECT
sent him this in the post!
Brio toys are really lovely - and wooden, which makes me happy, more than you'll know.I adore everything about this toy - the paint - the feel - the little magnet, and the fact that Finlay views it as something precious - again, makes me happy! Do you remember those little wooden trains that had magnetic ends... with the cute wooden track that looked like wooden puzzle pieces? That was made by Brio - they have been around for years!
*Sigh of love* Cute cute cute!
They have some money off at the moment too... if you have a little one I recommend having a browse round the Store & Blog.

Last Fiskars project.

My time with Fiskars has gone quick! Three months seems like a blink of an eye, but it is time for my last fiskars post!
I have had some 3.5 " x 5" Frames in my under-the-stairs-closet for ages and ages now, so it was about time I did something with them.
So - I used a range of their tools and punches to create these little framed pictures.
I have removed the glass in favour of 3D embellishing.
First up is a little bird. He is cute and could happily perch in my hallway..
The next two I love and will hang in my bathroom when I get some non-bent nails!
Living by the sea, I see a LOT of beach themed giftware in local stores, a TON of driftwood signs and starfish pictures etc etc... but... I have recently come to adore the beach hut motif that adorns many of the gifts I see...
I think I would like a little wooden beach hut decoration.. but I am still pondering where it would even go. So for now, a little happy bright beach hut picture like this will do.
And lastly - I made a card using one of their latest scallopy punches, to create bunting pennants, by simply snipping the punched card in between the scallops. I used twine as the bunting string and added some October Afternoon letter stickers and some of my adore happy tape. Oh happy tape I love you so!!

Friday Freebie - CURTIS. Digital Stamp.

Morning all! Welcome to this weeks Friday Freebie!
I think - we will hit over 20 thousand downloads this week - and if we do - I will give away another freebie to celebrate.
This week the freebie has advanced in years...
Meet Curtis.
Curtis is a surfer... or at least likes to think he is, but only between June-September, and only if the sun is out..
He has a collection of Hawian style shirts and border shorts which he wears with little regard to their matching properties.
Never seen without his aviators or a gaggle of girlie's all wishing they could be "Curtis's girl" he has a big heart but that wont pay the bills will it!

This week I have two projects for you...
Lisa has come up with these amazing straws..
Can you imagine these used at a Summer girlie BBQ?
I love the idea of creating straw toppers with the musings - it goes to show you how versatile the little musings can be!
ps: Check out the awesome six pack Lisa managed to get in there (esp on the back one)
Caroline has sent me this card this week - anyone else notice that Caroline has impeccable taste in choosing papers that match the musings? I am constantly in awe of seeing what she comes up with, her paper stash must be endless.. always just the right stamp, saying, paper, embellishment... mind blown.
I love the twine on the left of the card.. it reminds me of a surfer necklace thong!
If you too fancy creating something summery and fun...

thinking thinking....

Firstly - Thank you for all the get well emails and comments - you guys cheered me up!
I have decided to stop being a grumpus and instead plan awesome things from my bed of ill.
First awesome plan?
Well - you know how one of my new year "Scrapping goals" was to make mini books this year? Well, I haven't made one!!
EEp. Lame.
SOOO I am planning to start off with a cool mini book to make up for the other lack of mini books... I have 400 photos approx from Lego Land, and want to put together a start to finish time line of the day mini book.. I was going through the saved empty mini books/albums etc I have stored up.. and then thought, you know what would be cool as front and back covers?
Yup! = HOW COOL! And the best part? I don't have to buy them, as Ben started to collect lego last year,.. so this afternoon I am going to send him over to the flat "aka the flat that won't sell" and shimmy into the loft where he will locate me some cool green plates that I will cropodile or bind it all (Will a BIA work on plastic?!) into the covers.. I might even spell the word LEGOLAND out in those mini flat lego pieces...
Imagine!
*I am*
yay!

getting to know you Sunday

This cute website is doing "Getting to know you" Sunday questionnaires..you should take part!
1. Do you have a fetish?
Um, I really don't! is that not normal?
I just did some research on the subject in google and feel a little grubby now lol!

2. Do you sing in the shower?
YES, more than I wash. lol (I joke) I have certain shower songs too, oddly. Including KT Tunstall and Regina Spektor..

3. Who was your first crush?
His name was Robert Ford, he was the new kid in school and he was also my first kiss! In the primary school stationary cuboard whilst I was feeding the hamster.

4. What do you think is the best manly trait a guy could have?
Have you seen the film XXX? Vin Diesel stars in it - and there is this one scene, where he is hugging the other Russian spy and he envelopes her in a hug that looks so manly the mere thought of it makes me melt. It sticks in my memory from years ago! See, nothing rude about that - it was a hug... but it was the way he did it!

5. Do you sleep naked?
No, but, I the weather is hotting up here in the uk... so maybe!

6. What do you do when (you think) no one is looking?
Try and bollywood dance! *true story* I would love to know how. In fact, does anyone do this? Am I being the biggest idiot thinking that a big ol' fat white girl could pull it off?

7. What's the first thing you do when you go online?
Emails > Goggle Reader > Facebook > in that order.

8. Summer is.....?
Coming! Had a day in the paddle pool already!

******************************
Last weeks questions were:

1. The most expensive thing hanging in my closet is.....?
A dress from Debut - that i've never worn! Oh, and my husbands FCUK suit jacket.

2. Have you ever played a team sport?
No, thank goodness. It would chronically terrible and let the team down badly!

3. If you were a bug, what kind would you be?
A dragonfly.

4. Where on your body is the worst place to get sunburned?
When I worked on a summer camp -upstate New York - It was our job one day to move ALL the kids luggage from the drop off spot to their bunks. I didn't put sun lotion on, and the sun burn was so bad that my shoulders literally blistered. The blisters were easily 2" across!!
I get sun burn on my nose on a daily basis even if I use block lol.

5. Are you happy?
In general, I guess yes.. I am very aware how lucky I am to have my two boys and a family I love and friends who rock my world.
I am currently reeling at how unfair the world can be, but that's just because a friends baby is very ill in hospital. I could also do with the flat we are trying to sell to actually sell. Its taking forever and I have no idea why. :-(

6. People are always abbreviating..are there any abbreviations that make your skin crawl when people use them?
LMAO <---- that one. AGHHHHH seriously!? "Laugh my arse off??" What!!? In fact, I hate LMFAO more.. no need to explain why!

7. Do you love where you live..or could you live anywhere?
I would prefer a house, but location wise, I am happy.

8. What, if any, extreme measures do you go to to keep yourself from overeating when you're full?
Water, teeth cleaning, and imagining going to weigh in and gaining *shudder*

Anyway - enough now.. lol.. phew, I bet you are glad that is over!!

Digital round up.

It's a beautiful day out there today - sun is shining in the sky and the grass looks green.
Ben has already been to the turf shop to pick up some turf to finish the garden tomorrow.. and in a minute we will have a wander round the lazy Saturday bootfair.
I thought I would take a moment to blog some of my digital layouts that I have been doing.
I am a paper scrapper at heart - but downloaded some pretties recently that begged to be played with!

Friday Freebie - Letty. Digital Stamp.

Holy Batman... I was all chilled out this morning, lounging with the boys thinking "What a lovely Thursday this is..." and then WHAM. It hits me.. it's Friday! I hadn't prepared the freebie post at all - so forgive me if this is brief!

So... Meet "Letty"
Letty loves two things more than any other things...
1: Polka Dots
2: Wings
She is a fairy, of sorts, if you could call her a fairy with that fringe.
She adores marshmallows and singing at the top of her voice. (But.. she won't make it to Xfactor trust me) and you can usually find her doodling love hearts and deers on her workbooks.

The CT never fail to impress me. This week the cards are beautiful!
Caroline made me smile a LOT with this one - as its made with "Early Bird" Cosmo - those who know me know that this is my ALL time favourite scrapping line - ever.
Love that blue with it!

Kylie made this delicate stunning card - loving the doily and the bows! Looks like a Victorian dress. Pretty!
Lisa made this dreamy colour card - lilac and yellow is such a peaceful combo. Love the butterflies too - matches Letty's serene mood!
Thank you girlies!
OH -I almost forgot again..
Like her?

It's Wednesday...

Hipstamatic photo love!
I have made a couple of digi pages today - and this one features three hipstamatic photos, which I am addicted to, I love their look and feel. It is Finlay at the beach having his first ice cream cone of the season. It is only May but we have been having some un-seasonal sunny weather!
**********************************
Today was happy mail.
I received the pegs that I had ordered from Katy Hedgers new Folksy shop.
You may remember hat I was partnered with Katy in a recent craft swap that I blogged about, and she sent me this amazing pin cushion *some of which are in her shop woo!*
Well, She commissioned me last week to design her shop logo - which I loved doing, and as soon as her shop was open to the public I popped in for a browse!
She was very patient with me, as I initially ordered pink by accident but she changed my order without even a blink *thank you* When they arrived I was very excited. The quality of them is sooo much better than I had expected (I expected pretty but they are in fact pretty fabulous as she has varnished each one!)
I think I will hang my birthday bunting up with them round the garden...
here they are in their packet...
And hanging in the apple tree.

Her shop is packed with pretties and is SOO reasonable in price! Pop by and have a looksie!
THE HOME MADE BOUTIQUE
***************************************
Talking of pretty things.. me and Ben took Finlay for a wander round Hastings old town on Sunday. I love the Old Town for its quirky individual shops and windy lanes.
The sun was out and even though we had no pennies it was still nice to browse.
Some of the old pubs were still decorated in the ribbons and branches from a recent festive called "Jack on the green"
The shops are all cute and have sweet names... like "Good day!"This shop was closed thank goodness, as I don't think I would have resisted going overdrawn in the bank for this bird should it have been open!I also think I need a sign in my house that reads "ODD"*Happy face*
I am sending out blog love today -wishing the rest of your weeks to go calmly, warmly and smoothly.

Time...

Monday morning is usually a time of sorrow for most.. but for me, it's the morning that Finlay goes to nursery! He only goes for one morning a week.. so this week, as Ben is on a late shift, we could spend that time with one another. We decided to forget housework and actually do something worth while together.
We went to my favourite park in Hastings - and lolled about in the warm sun, had a drink at the cafe and got some pretty pictures together....
I love the one of me blowing the dandelion clock, the legs in the tree and the black and white of me and Ben best.
And whilst Finlay napped after nursery, I actually scrapped TWO layouts!
(Ok don't be too impressed.. they are only simple)
Here is what I did.
This first one is made using the latest Studio Callicon kit.
*swoon* at the Lily Bee paper.
And for this one, I went super monochrome!
I found a pack of mini doilies today for £1.50 (I think there is like 200 in there or something crazy) so I took three out and used them as a mask with some spray mist to create this background....
I didn't want to put much on this one either.. I thought it suited being plainer rather than too intricate.

:-D
I feel good for scrapping..

Lego land adventure.....

Hello again!
I wanted to blog my Friday...
But before I do, I need to mention that I am a very lucky girl indeed, for a million reasons, but one of my favourites is, that this girl......
is my best friend.
Something that I thank my lucky stars for daily.
On Friday she took me and Finlay for a day out to Lego land.

In the car, I felt like a ten year old I was so excited lol! When we saw "park entrance" we actually "Whooped" in the car!
Finlay has never been anywhere like it before. He has only just reached 0.9 Mtrs tall :-D (the minimum height for the smaller rides)
When we arrived he was very excited indeed... didn't want to be in his pram and ran around wide eyed!
There was so much to see, do and be impressed by. All the Lego models were made from Lego that you can buy in the shops.. no fancy curved bricks etc, all normal style blocks.
Impressed? We were!

There was a TON to see and do, it is a huge park, if you have never been before, do go!
There was even a robot dinosaur escapee.

Giant duplo houses...

Man eating plants.....

20ft High Pharaohs..

A dragon, bigger than I could estimate.

A dinosaur Safari car ride, that Finlay went round twice on. Amazing.

There was even.....
The crown jewels (from Lego obvs)
A Lego art gallery.
A Lego "bust" gallery (Hence Pavarotti above)
AND best of all (Sorry for lack of photos of this but they are on the main pc) was "mini land"
In fact - Log onto Laura's blog HERE to see some more pics..but this was seriously amazing, It was "countries" made from Lego, in mini form.
It took the makers 3 years, and 100 staff to complete and is an on going project.
The models were interactive, and played music, moved, and pretty much blew our mind on more than one occasion!
So thank you Laura - you pretty much made Finlay's year!
