Its an amazing honour and great team to be on and I am

Home Making

We had our flat valued a few weeks ago, which gave us the grim knowledge that moving right now would not be viable, the housing market is in a bad way. So, that being so, we have decided to make our flat a real home.
Spend some time on it, where before we have neglected it.
I started in the hall, by painting a 4ft mural, its a floral swirl.. it went a bit grander than I first expected, but I like it non the less....
Here it is in stages...

The flowers are make believe, and if they look like proper flowers that is just coincidence lol!
The 2nd stage of "make it home" came in the form of our lounge,
I have bugged Ben for years, and finally its done! (nearly)
The ceiling went from nicotine yellow to pristine white, the previous people actually painted it this awful colour! So it had to go!

This is the mural I painted years ago, which is on its way out now, in favour for some fancy wall paper, (See end picture)

This is the final colour of the paint, and freshly whited ceiling and window frame, this is taken with the lights on at night...

And this is it in daylight..
Gorgeous!!!!!!

This is the wall paper. It will be up by Sunday!
I am a happy paint covered gal!

digi and etsy

Ok, I embraced the digi in me, on the evenings when I just fancy lounging by the pc, I have discovered that digi scrapping is fun, but also practical in the respects that you can practice a layout before starting to cut up paper! I normally just use freebie kits, but I actually bought two kits this week, one of them being the cutest robot kit from the Lillypad. I think Kates kits are really good value for money compared to a lot of other kits you can buy, and full of hand drawn, hand made embellishments too which give it that realism.
I drew the tree and clouds on the Geo Cache page, which was nice, as it gave you the "I made that" feeling all over again. I actually replicated this digi page into "real" last night, I hope to show you that soon!

Oh, and I have now updated my etsy! (see, I said I would lol!)
And in it, if you're lucky, you may just find these little cuties...

I will be finishing a lot of things today, the wall mural in the hall for starters, I have photos of that as its gone along so I will blog those for you to see later. And I also have the paper, and paint for the lounge now! We start operation "do up lounge" 2morrow and I am keen to go!!
Those who have read my blog for a fair amount of time know that decorating my lounge has been on my "Must do" list for about 2 years!!!!!!

walking over load.

One of fav pics right now...

I have walked about 6 miles in the last couple of days... Since last Sunday Ben has been on a Geocahe overload. It is great for getting outdoors, and sometimes finding cool stuff, although its mostly cracker items and stuff from peoples "bits drawers" ...but I now have thigh fatigue!
11 caches in 4 days...
*ache*
Yesterday we took a "day off" from it, mainly as I wasn't feel too well.
The above pictures are "family of three" at the various Cache positions.
I still can't get used to having my net back, its great, but it also made me realise how much time I spend on here, and not having the net for 20 days or so meant that I could have some dedicated family time, even though at the time I didn't realise it. It was good.
It brought my word of the year "nurture" into full impact!
It also gave me a chance to make loads of little pendants.... which I will show you in the next post I do I promise!
I will leave you with this little birdie.. guesses to where he is from...?

Geo Cache tastic

So, Bens 30th Birthday arrived on Sunday. He wanted ONE thing and ONE thing only, a Garmin Extrex Venture handheld GPS nav system thingie...
He decided that he must have a hobby, and Geo caching would be it!
In the last 2 days we (family_of_three on the Geo forums) Have found 6 out of 7 caches! (the one we missed was super hard and we had Finlay wriggling in our arms!)
I decided that each time we locate a cache I would photo our little family of three (wooden people) in the area, without giving the location away and photograph. These two pics were from our first ever finds, today we did four more , but STUPIDLY I didn't put the camera memory card in, *weep*, so all the "cool shots" of Ben and Finlay and the wooden peeps are just a sad figment of my imagination.... seriously, why doesn't the Nikon D40 "beep" when you "forget" to put an SD card in!? Grumble grumble! anywhoo..
Anyway, its exciting! The only downside to our little adventures is that sometimes you can experience the nastier side of nature, eg: Ben knelt in some dog crap yesterday (I laughed heartily at this once the shock had worn off, which appears to have caused some karma issues, as today I tipped out of a cache what appeared to be rain water, only to be hit by the delicate aroma of dog wee. I say dog, It could have been badger, either way.. YUCK!)
So, note to self.. "remember to check area for poop and unusual shine"
So.. come out local Sussex geo cachers... tell me if you partake!!

So much love............

HAPPY VALENTINES
After what feels like 18 days of horror, this weekend has already shaped up to be one huge love fest. Yes, I am blogging with a wine induced rose tinted glow, but even so, I am seriously happy. HAPPY!
Firstly, being back online is like being wrapped in a huge duvet of warmth and comfort, relief that I can contact those cyber folk who make up a large proportion of my life makes me "me" again.
I also had a GREAT letter today telling me that my Nikon was ready to be collected, I have missed that camera... and now it is home!
Today is valentines, and Ben brought me a gorgeous bunch of tulips (my all time favourite bloom) and some baileys chocolates (he knows me verrrrrrrrry well) He is also in the kitchen as I type cooking me mussels. I am spoiled, and I know it, but I also appreciate every moment of it.
I love that man in a way I have never loved before, and it makes me smile just thinking of it.... (or is that the Italian rose' wine?) anyway!
Right - a huge catch up!
Firstly, valentines goodness...
The fish shops all fish caught locally to Hastings .... the shop where Ben bought his mussels for tonight...I have to say - they were the most delicious thing I have eaten in ages.. (and I mean that literally, as I have JUST finished)
*****
check out the hat love! How blimmin cute is this handmade cutie? The felt flower is added, but also handmade. (not by me I hasten to add!)

on a random note, I hurt my foot about 10 days ago...in a bad way, rolling it over the stair gate.. it hurt serious amounts and still does, but in various ways. Sometimes (and the least fun) all the tendens in the ankle go, and leave me hobbling along like a moron. Other times It feels like someone is crushing the side and I get pins and needles. But today seems to be a good day for it, it hasn't hurt so much today - maybe its the wine and the Internet/camera joy, or maybe its on the mend.. I hope its the later! (this pic is half way through when some of the bruising had gone)

On a cool note, Scrapbook Inspirations printed our retreat photo, Ben took this picture and loved seeing it in print. Behind us in the pic is the quaint hostel we shared, amazing fun and one to be repeated! I also was lucky enough to have been picked for the gallery winner, which means I have won some books apparently :-D cute stuff!

This is me, slightly "mellow on vino" on Guitar hero. I like the game, but don't think I am very good, I picked it up in the end, but certainly not one of my prouder moments. There are many photos of this night that are shocking and will be facebooked for all those involved.. you know who you are! (BTW I have never hidden the fact that I am a huge wilder beast... but I AM loosing weight, and so far have lost 22Ibs.. and think it shows in this pic compared to my wedding pics...anyway.. self justification over...)

Right, I am off for a cuddle and some baileys cheesecake.
Happy Valentines all..
Mwuah.

Hi guys.
I still have no internet or phone line - 9 days now... if anyone is planning on moving to Talk Talk, I highly stress that you do not!!!!! We have been treated abominably - service that has left me wanting to actually drive to India and scream at the "help desk" I have had no answers for 9 days, I feel sorry for the "help team" who have NO idea whats actually going on!!! We have been made empty promise after empty promise, I just don't know how a company so huge can get away with it really. Its a horrific shame really, and today we have made calls to go back to good old BT. *sigh* - more expensive, but my gosh the service NEVER broke down with them.
Anyway - I am really sorry, horrible ranting vent over with.
So above are some Layouts that I have actually done in my "internet drought"
It feels good to scrap again in the evenings, I miss chatting with my scrappy girlies..
Its sad to think that I feel so lost without it, but hey, we are a product of this technical generation right?
I have also been working on a new crafty project, which I am excited about- more of that later!
